Bluehost provides quality hosting

Bluehost, today, is used by the majority of customers who are just creating their first website or already have a large web portal. If you are looking for a hosting that meets all the parameters of reliability, uptime, and provides high performance, then you need to use the services of this service.

Bluehost, for more than 16 years, does not fail its customers and is in great demand among developers and bloggers.

A little history of Bluehost

Bluehost launched its services in 1996 and positioned itself as a free hosting company, which at the time, was called 0catch.com ahhh! But in 2003, they changed the brand, which was called Bluehost, after which the company began to actively develop and became popular.

For more than 10 years, Bluehost has been actively cooperating with WordPress, providing the best hosting for those who want to create a website on WordPress. For all Bluehost customers, there is a separate tariff plan created for this popular CMS.

Excellent Server Uptime

My Site Uptime

Bluehost Uptime

The uptime of the server is very important for the site. The site should always be on the network, so you do not lose your visitors and the site does not fall into the search results of Google. Acceptable server uptime is 99%, but not all hosting companies will help to provide such a standard.

Unlike many hosting companies, Bluehost can provide your website with 99.9% uptime, which is an important indicator when choosing a hosting. It does not matter whether you use a cloud hosting or a dedicated server, you can always count on the performance of your site from 99.9% to 100%.

Remember, your site should always be accessible to users!

Very Fast Servers From Bluehost

Of course Bluehost is not the fastest hosting, but even with virtual hosting, your site would work very quickly. The speed of loading pages depends on the type of hosting and site. If you have a small site, 5-10 pages, you would fit the cheapest plan – Shared Hosting.

But if you have a large blog, you need to choose a VPS to make the site load in less than 1 second. The use of a VPS or dedicated servers is guaranteed to provide your site with a high search ranking in Google and more server resources.

Do not forget to use additional tools to increase the speed of the site. We recommend all websites use CDN from CloudFlare, StackPath, KeyCDN or BelugaCDN. This will allow your visitors to access your site from the nearest physical server.

Daily Backups are Included in the Plan

Backups are no less important than SEO website promotion. We have no doubt that every website should make a daily backup in order not to lose its business in an instant. Unfortunately, many site owners are not serious about this process, but in vain.

Fortunately, Bluehost offers a free backup for your website. Use this feature and you will never lose your site data.

If your site is made on WordPress or Drupal, you can use free plugins to backup your site and save your data to cloud storage.

Bluehost Plans Compared

Bluehost offers its customers several hosting plans that are significantly different from each other. Here are all the offers from the provider, which we will consider in more detail in this review: Shared hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated hosting, WordPress hosting and reseller hosting.

Shared Hosting: $2.75/mo* – $13.95/mo*

*Price from 1 year

Bluehost Shared Hosting

Bluehost Shared Hosting

Shared hosting Bluehost is suitable for small websites and blogs that are visited by few people. These are the cheapest hosting rates, because your site shares server resources with other clients who also host their sites on the same server. The big disadvantage of shared hosting is that your site can become slow if one of the other web sites experiences a sharp jump in traffic.

Another feature of the shared hosting from Bluehost is that you cannot buy hosting for just one month, you will have to pay the annual rate in one payment, which for many beginners may seem quite expensive – $59.40 ($4.95 for 12 months).

Note: Bluehost, like many hosting companies, offer discounts to new customers which can significantly save your budget. In this review, we don’t place discounts from Bluehost, but you can watch them on a separate “Hosting Bonuses” page.

All shared hosting rates:

  1. Basic: $2.75/mo* (normally $7.99)
  2. Plus: $5.45/mo* (normally $10.99)
  3. Choice Plus: $5.45/mo* (normally $14.99)
  4. Pro: $13.95/mo* (normally $23.99)

Package details:

The Basic package provides a free domain name that you can use as long as you are a Bluehost customer. You also get up to 50 GB of memory, unlimited monthly data transfer and up to five email addresses.

The Plus package, in addition to the main features, adds anti-spam protection, unlimited storage and unlimited mailboxes.

The Choice Plus package provides domain privacy so you can hide your real location to enhance your security.

Plan Pro, in addition to all these features, provides a free dedicated IP address.

VPS Hosting: $18.99/mo* – $59.99/mo*

*Price from 1 year

Bluehost VPS Hosting

Bluehost VPS Hosting

Choose VPS hosting from Bluehost if you need more capacity for the site and you have a lot of traffic. Unlike classic shared hosting, VPS hosts only a few sites, which significantly affects the performance of the server. On VPS hosting, your website will load much faster and there will be no failures. A site hosted on a VPS can easily provide up to 50,000 units of traffic per day.

All VPS hosting rates:

  1. Standard: $18.99/mo* (normally $29.99)
  2. Enhanced: $29.99/mo* (normally $59.99)
  3. Ultimate: $59.99/mo* (normally $119.99)

Bluehost has three VPS hosting plans for Linux: prices start at $18.99/mo*. The minimum plan includes: 30GB SSD Storage, 2 GB RAM, 1 TB Bandwidth, 1 IP Address. If you want more resources, choose the Ultimate package for $59.99/mo*.

Note: Bluehost does not offer Windows-VPS.

Dedicated Hosting: $79.99/mo* – $119.99/mo*

*Price from 1 year

Bluehost Dedicated Hosting

Bluehost Dedicated Hosting

Dedicated hosting from Bluehost gives access to incredibly powerful and modern servers that provide your site with unlimited opportunities for growth. If you want to create a large site with a lot of traffic, you need to use a dedicated server. Bluehost provides a variety of server configurations that are very flexible to configure and extend. The cost of a server starts from $79.99/mo* (including discounts).

All dedicated hosting rates:

  1. Standard: $79.99/mo* (normally $119.99)
  2. Enhanced: $99.99/mo* (normally $159.99)
  3. Premium: $119.99/mo* (normally $209.99)

Bluehost offers dedicated servers on Linux, which include: 4 cores @ 2.3 GHz, 500GB (mirrored) storage, 4 GB RAM, 5 TB bandwidth, 3 IP addresses (data taken from the minimum “Standard” plan). For more powerful resources, choose the Premium package for $119.99/mo*.

Shared WordPress Hosting & WP Pro

Bluehost and WordPress

Bluehost + WordPress

Most beginners and professionals choose WordPress to create a website. This is an easy-to-use site management system and Bluehost offers separate tariff plans adapted to this CMS. Shared hosting WordPress includes three tariff plans:

  1. Basic: $2.75/mo* (normally $7.99)
  2. Plus: $5.45/mo* (normally $10.99)
  3. Choice Plus: $5.45/mo* (normally $14.99)

Package details:

Basic package includes placement of one site on WordPress and includes: Free SSL Certificate, 50GB SSD Storage, Free Domain for 1 Year, 5 Parked Domains, 25 Subdomains.

The Plus package is slightly different from the starter pack and includes: Unlimited Websites, Unmetered SSD Storage, Unlimited Parked Domains, Unlimited Subdomains and 1 Office 365 Mailbox – Free 30 Days.

The Choice Plus package is the most advanced hosting option for WordPress, which includes additional features: CodeGuard Basic Backup and all the features from the “Choice Plus” tariff plan.

In addition to the main tariff for WordPress, Bluehost has a more advanced tariff plan: WordPress Pro (WP Pro). This is a full-fledged managed hosting for WordPress, which includes many additional services: Jetpack site Analytics, Marketing Center, 100 Free Premium Themes, Daily Scheduled Backups, Malware Detection and Removal, Domain Privacy Protection, PayPal Integration, Bluehost SEO Tools, 10GB Video Compression and more.

You do not have to install WordPress, as it will be pre-installed after the payment for hosting. You will only have to go to the admin panel of the new site on WordPress, install the theme and create content.

E-Commerce Hosting

E-Commerce hosting from Bluehost, created for WordPress, will help your project to achieve great results, through additional marketing tools. WooCommerce makes it very easy to launch an online store, accept payments on the site and customize the look of the site.

Pros for Bluehost Customers

1. Best Uptime – 99.99% to 100%

It makes no sense to make a website if the hosting is not able to provide the best uptime server. You can make a very beautiful site, convenient for users and fill it with interesting content, but if the site is not available to users all the time, you will lose time and money in vain.

We have tested more than 50 web hosts and the average best uptime is 99.94%. You may think this is a high figure, but this is a false opinion. If you make calculations on the calculator, you will see that your site has not worked more than 5 hours for a year. This is unacceptable for any site!

To avoid such stupid problems, use the hosting from Bluehost, which provides stable operation of the site at 99.99%.

See the screenshot of the site:

As you can see, the site speed and site uptime are great.

2. Low Price For Hosting ($2.75/mo*)

For many, the price of hosting is very important, especially if you are making a new website. Therefore, the cost of hosting for $2.75 per month will be a pleasant surprise for you. This is a great offer to take advantage of because the regular price, without a discount, is $7.99 per month.

The minimum rate will be enough for the average site that is visited by a few people, and you can always change the rates and scale. You will get: 50GB SSD storage, free SSL certificate, unlimited bandwidth and more.

This is a good offer in which you will get a stable hosting, round the clock performance and high-speed page load.

Of course, you can find cheaper hosting, but believe me, you will get more problems than savings!

3. Reliable Security Settings

Although, Bluehost is a low-cost hosting service, it offers high security standards to its customers. Consider a few important parameters that provide reliable security of your sites.

With any tariff, you get a free SSL security certificate, which is very important for the site.

Any tariff plan includes a domain privacy feature that hides your real data and location. Most often, hackers use this information for phishing attacks and to deceive users.

By default, SiteLock is enabled, which prevents malware attacks that are often used for sites on
WordPress.

CodeGuard helps you automatically make backups of your website, so that you can always restore it when needed.

This is a great security package for cloud hosting!

4. Large Selection Of Integrated Apps

Bluehost took care of its customers and made easy integration with popular e-Commerce applications and services. You can easily use the best services from one hosting control panel.

You can manage multiple domains from a single panel (CPanel) and back up your data on a schedule.

If you plan to create a website on WordPress, you will only need to make a few clicks and your website will automatically install. After that, you will receive an e-mail with login information to the admin panel. In addition, with one click, you can install Drupal, Joomla, Magento, Forum CMS or e-Commerce shop.

By default, Bluehost connects to the content delivery network (CDN). So you download your servers and all your files are stored on other, more powerful servers around the world.

5. WordPress Hosting Recommendations

We already wrote about the fact that WordPress is mostly used for creating websites. Therefore, WordPress personally recommends the best hosting for its platform:

  • Bluehost
  • Dreamhost
  • SiteGround

These are recommended and fast hosting services for WordPress, which are published on their official website. You can check it on the screenshot.

If you need flexible and fast hosting, WordPress recommends using these hosting platforms.

6. Convenient Web Hosting Control Panel

Many web hosting services are not designed for ordinary users who are just starting to create their own websites. You may face a big problem if the hosting does not have a control panel (cPanel). In this case, you will have to hire experienced programmers to install WordPress or another site management system.

Bluehost Admin Panel

Bluehost cPanel

Using hosting from Bluehost, you will immediately get a convenient site control panel (cPanel) and will be able to install any programs you need in one wedge. It is very convenient for beginners.

7. Refund Within 30 days

Buying hosting, you usually pay for a few months in advance. Of course it carries small risks. For example, you will pay for hosting 1 year in advance, but for some reason, you will not be satisfied with the services and speed of the server.

For such cases, there is a refund policy within 30 days.

You can test hosting or dedicated server from Bluehost and if you are not satisfied with something, get your money back. But there are small rules you should know:

  • You can return the money spent on hosting. Any other services such as domain purchase or security certificate are not included in these rules.
  • Any refund requests after 30 days will be rejected.

We recommend that you read the refund policy carefully before registering with Bluehost.

8. Quick Support Service

Bluehost provides customers with great support. You can get the help of experts in live chat, e-mail and telephone. In addition, on the site you can find a lot of information on the use of hosting and problem solving.

I used the live chat and I was answered in a few seconds, it was amazing and nice!

Cons for Bluehost Customers

Even though Bluehost is one of the best hosts, it still has some downsides that we have to report.

1. High Prices For Hosting Renewal

If you want to get the best possible price on hosting and to save some money, buy hosting from 2 years.

Package Information

Bluehost Package Information

As you can see, the best rate for 36 months (3 years) is for $99. But the problem is that after 36 months you will pay the usual price of $7.99.

This is a common practice of many hosting companies and you should not be upset. After 3 years, your site should bring in enough money to pay for hosting.

2. The Cost Of Site Migration Is Very High

Most quality web hosts will migrate your site for free and make all the necessary server settings, not Bluehost. To be honest, I’m shocked by the price of migration site ($149) and why it costs so much money.

I believe that transferring the website to a hosting company is a mutually beneficial service and taking money for it is not reasonable. I mean, I can’t know the ins and outs of the company, but it’s very intimidating.

According to the technical support, the website transfer will be very fast and professional… But the same service other hosting companies do for free.

Bluehost: Final Facts and Conclusions

So, Bluehost offers a good hosting that works without interruption and is perfect for WordPress. The basic plan costs only $2.75 per month, which is very pleasing.

In addition to cloud hosting, Bluehost offers other services: Shared hosting, WordPress hosting, VPS hosting, Dedicated hosting, Reseller hosting.

By far, Bluehost is an ideal choice for beginning bloggers and medium-sized businesses. You can easily manage the site through cPanel and change tariff plans depending on the development of your site.

We believe that Bluehost is a great hosting that you need to try and understand whether it suits you or not. In any case, you have 30 days to request a refund.

    • FastestHosting says:

Bluehost offers four payment options for virtual hosting from $2.75 to $13.95 per month for the first year. After that, you will pay between $7.99 and $25.99 per month when your annual contract ends. Please note that you can buy hosting for 12 months. With hosting you will get a free domain for a year.

      • Gregor says:

Can I pay monthly on Bluehost?

        • FastestHosting says:

Unfortunately NOT. Bluehost does not offer monthly hosting plans. You will have to pay a minimum of 12 months to buy hosting. But there is one plus, you can make a refund within 30 days if you do not like the hosting and services.

  • Adam says:

Hi! Why use Bluehost for WordPress?
What other hosting services can I use for WordPress? Why is everyone recommending Bluehost?

  • Alex Bloom says:

Good hosting, in use since 2008, no special problems. The only tariff, as such, is not unlimited: there are restrictions on the number of SQL database tables (large enough), and warns when the account has more than 90,000 folders.
